End of year activities

It's been awhile since our last blog. We have been pretty busy with all the year end activities for the kids. Here is a hodge podge of what's been going on.

Rylie has been taking ballet/tap lessons since last Sept. She has been working hard all year for the big dance recital. The recital theme was "food for your soul". Rylie's class did a tap number to the song "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast. The girls did great and it was a lot of fun to watch.

Rylie and her good friend Linsey. Aren't they the cutest!

Brian gave Rylie a bouquet of flowers for doing such a great job.

Austin received an academic achievement award in school. This award is awarded to all the kids in grades 3-5 that earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the trimester. He earned this award every trimester.

Lakeland Hills had a year end BBQ. Mr. Foster (the principal) cooked up the hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone and the kids got to eat outside. Families were invited to come eat with their kids.

Here is another funny Colin story. Colin kept disappearing on me during the BBQ and the first time two of Rylie's classmates came to tell me that he was throwing his hot dog down the grass hill and then running after it and jumping on it. Next, I found him over trying to play box hockey with some kids. He kept standing in the middle of the game and the older kids were getting frustrated but were not sure what to do with this very stubborn little 3 yr. old. Life is never boring with Colin around.

The first grade field trip was a hit with all the kids. The Reptile Man came for a visit and the kids loved all the friends he brought with him.

The kids gladly volunteered Mr. Foster (the principal) to be the first one to hold the giant albino python.

ooooh, sooo cute-baby alligator

To kill some time before lunch the classes had tug of wars against each other. Rylie's class won the final match. We also had a tug of war between all the male parents and the female parents. The girls won (of course) but we also had about twice as many people.

Getting ready for lunch. It was a great field trip and I was glad I was able to share this day with Rylie!

So many fun times! This time of the year is so busy but it's always fun, too.

Rylie looks so cute in her recital gear. Congrats to Austin for making the honor roll!

I'm loving those Pat-on-the-Back shirts. ;)
